Christopher Ciafro
Biography
Christopher Ciafro is an Associate Lawyer at Sanelli Law, having joined the firm in July 2024.
Originally from Montréal, Christopher grew up in a multicultural environment. Raised in a family of immigrants, he developed a deep passion for immigration and refugee law, which continues to inspire his legal practice.
Christopher attended McGill University for his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law. Christopher also studied overseas at Sciences Po Paris and the University of Turin. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and is empanelled with Legal Aid Ontario.
Christopher has experience assisting clients with refugee claims, appeals, judicial reviews, sponsorship applications, supervisa applications, humanitarian and compassionate applications, and permanent residence for protected persons applications.
Christopher completed several internships with the Canadian government at the Canadian Consulate General in Detroit, the Canada Border Services Agency, and at the Prime Minister’s Office. His time working at the Canada Border Services Agency inspired Christopher to dedicate his legal career to assisting vulnerable refugees in need of state protection.
During law school, Christopher volunteered at The Refugee Centre legal clinic at McGill University. He also worked with Project Genesis, an anti-poverty non-profit based in Montreal. These experiences taught Christopher to approach his legal practice with empathy and a socially conscious perspective.
Christopher is fluent in English, French, and conversational in Italian and Arabic.
Outside of his legal practice, Christopher enjoys cooking, film photography, and keep up with pop culture.
